The Managing Director of Stellar Industries Corp., a subsidiary of TRUMPF Photonics Inc., is leading the company and is responsible for the overall success of the business. S/he is supported in this role by the Senior Management Team, in particular the Director of Operations and Quality.

The Managing Director develops and executes the company’s business strategy to ensure profitability and sustainability of the company, in alignment with long term goals agreed with the shareholder representatives. To enable the sustainable growth of the business, s/he ensures adequate investment into new technologies and product development. In addition, s/he is responsible for developing organization and staff to optimally support the business success. 

The Managing Director of Stellar Industries Corp. reports to the Managing Director of TRUMPF Photonics Inc. as the assigned shareholder representative.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

 Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to ensure sustainable growth of the company and to attain goals agreed with the shareholder representatives.

  1. Responsible for the overall financial performance of the company. 
  2. Develop and implement a sales, marketing and communications strategy that ensures sustainable growth and profitability of the company. Operationally ensure that monthly order intake targets and other sales key metrics are met.
  3. Identify customer needs and market shifts to steer the company’s future direction. Pro-actively build strong and durable relationships to the company’s strategic customers.
  4. Prepare and manage annual operating and capital invest budgets. Ensure transparency of financial condition and outlook of the company through preparation and release of periodic financial reports to the company’s management and the shareholder representatives.
  5. Responsible for the company’s compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations. Responsible for implementing IT and data security standards as required to operate in and serve key industries. 
  6. Continue integration of Stellar Industries Corp. into the TRUMPF Group, making optimum use of TRUMPF Group resources to attain company objectives.
  7. Lead, coach and mentor the Stellar Industries Corp. management team to ensure personal and technical development. Ensure success of the company in attracting, hiring and retention of high performing personnel.

Your profile

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in business administration or a relevant technical field.
  • 10 years of experience in a senior management position with responsibility for several business functions or an organization with comparable complexity.
  • Proven experience in business development, technical sales, product management or R&D, preferably in a components or materials field. 
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing strategic business plans.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and overall economic forces that influence the business.
  • Strong understanding of company finance and measures of performance.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
