Your role

Gerneral Purpose:
1.Lead R&D optics team to develop/transfer laser technology/products.
2.To do feasibility study, cost analysis, manufacturable analysis for target optical sub-system.
3.Define specifications for optical components, propose and document test solutions. To qualify otpical parts vendors and document specs.
4.Collaborate with engineering and production team, transfer optical solution to product line.
5.Collaborate with international team, engineering and production team, continuously improve product quality, reliability, improve yield, reduce the cost.
6.Support engineering, service and production team to do failure analysis, propose and execute relative solutions.
支持工程, 售后,生产团队进行各类失效分析并提出解决方案,并落实解决方案。
7.Provide technical support to engineering, service and production team.

Main Task:
1.Understand laser products’ working principles, initiate/maintain design documents.
2.Work together with purchasing department, communicate with optical parts vendors and understand new technologies, continuously improve the design of the laser proudcts.
3.Define weekly R&D plan, lead R&D optics team to accomplish the work on time.
4.Initiate and update R&D progress report, attend multi-functional review meeting to make sure the progress is on track.
5.Lead the team to design and execute experiments to solve key technical problems.
6.Arrange R&D engineer to go to customer position to diagnose and solve customer’s issues when neccessary.
7.Personnel management, such as the team objectives explanation, employee handbook and TRUMPF’ policy implementation, solve conflicts in the team, train team members, man-hour management, performance evaluation, vacation planning, etc.
8.Identify talents and participate in recruiting process to find the suitable team members.
9.Manage the R&D equipment, fixtures and tools.
10.Complete other tasks assigned from the direct supervisor per business requirement.

Your profile

1.Bachelor degree Technical related major, and optical, electrical or mechanical related major is preferred.
2.More than 5 years of working experience in laser industry, with ideally more than 3 years of work experience as R&D leader in fiber lasers or solid state lasers.
•    Low & high voltage electrician's certificate is a plus.
•    Trouble-shooting in production processes.
•    Continuous improvement mindset and methodology for the production processes and people management, and LEAN knowledge is a plus.
•    Good communication skills and good Microsoft Office skills
4.Chinese native speaker. 
5.Good command of written English, and good oral English skills is highly prefered.
6.Strong sense of high integrity, reliability, responsibility and customer orientation 
7.Ability to handle issue independently, open-minded and with a team spirit.
8.Ability to continuously learn.
9.Teamwork spirit is required; strong competence to convince and influence others. strong executive force.
10.Observe the regulations of TCN including but not limited on the Employee’s Handbook and Code of Conduct of TRUMPF China.
