Principles & Duties:
Provide project management support for Regional Managers by matching customer technical requirements to machine tool portfolio capabilities. This includes machine tool orders from intake to delivery, sign-off, and financial collection for machine tools with specific concentration in the more technically advanced orders. Interpret customers’ technical needs and communicate specific requirements to the Order to Cash Department. Advise and educate Regional Sales Analysts on the technical components of orders. Work with production facilities to ensure special orders and new technical offerings are being processed in accordance with sales and customer requirements. Assist Regional Sales Analysts with tracking orders from quotation through installation for respective region with the goal of making overall order fulfillment process smoother. Act as resource for the technical single point of contact for customers to streamline communications between customers, Regional Service Managers, Representatives and internal departments. Analyze contracts for clarity and accuracy of the commercial terms (ship & payment terms, taxes, delivery, bill & ship to). Determine machine availability and assign machines / serial numbers to customer orders based on machines available from TRUMPF Product Management. Compare Customer Purchase Order to TRUMPF summary proposal to ensure technical accuracy when submitting machine configuration to Contracts; this also includes reviewing Terms & Conditions. Complete machine tool order write-ups and submit to contracts processing department for final confirmation and processing while providing technical quality assurance of the order write-up. Assist the Regional Sales Analysts in the coordination of Finance approval with TRUMPF Finance as required. Analyze machine tool order trends to look for customer requirements patterns especially as related to new technology. Assist in reporting machine tool orders to Sales. Assist in the coordination of the delivery of machine tools, automation and TruServices with customer and appropriate departments. Monitor availability list for non-standard machines which require technical customization and inform Product Management when more are needed. Ensure escalation support (customer service, training, etc.) is provided as required by the order/contract Terms and Conditions. Coordinate automation orders with Automation Groups. Review and implement machine order to cash process improvements as required.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
2 years of experience as Sales Engineer, Sales Manager, Product Manager or related that includes the following: Manufacturing, sales and marketing in sheet metal industries; Manufacturing, including sheet metal fabrication and laser welding; TRUMPF machinery customer consultations; TRUMPF laser cutting and bending technologies.
