As a sales & service subsidiary of a multi-billion-dollar global company with 70+ locations, we are responsible for our Laser Technology Division in North America. The Business & Project Management Intern will work closely with different departments such as Sales, Product & Project Management, Technical Service, and After Sales. The intern will be learning and mastering different tools such as Excel, SAP, Analysis for Office, SharePoint, C4C, E2Q, etc. while gaining insight into the interesting world of industrial laser manufacturing. With the guidance of experienced professionals, this internship is an ideal opportunity for students to grow.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

The internship involves Business Management & Project Management related duties & responsibilities, providing the intern the advantage of acquiring both a general business understanding & project management skills.

• Project Management-related duties & responsibilities:
  • Manage projects for standard customer orders with supervision of experienced project managers. Dependent on candidate’s development, take on more complex projects with or without supervision.
  • Take ownership until an order is fully executed–escalate and report to management in case project success is being prohibited.
  • Act as interface for commercial and technical information between customer and the TRUMPF Laser business unit.
• Business Management-related duties & responsibilities:
  • Create & distribute weekly/monthly KPIs for different departments regarding topics such as sales, risk management, profitability, etc.
  • Maintain local Power BI reporting
  • Analyze & distribute capacity utilization reports in Technical Service
  • Provide logistics information for ongoing projects to teammates
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses and support team members in additional tasks
• Any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management
• Adhere to all company guidelines

Education & Experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technical, or Business-related field. Minimum sophomore year completed.
• Strong analytical skills
• Must be self-motivated and have excellent organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal skills
• Great communication skills; Fluent in English
• Advanced understanding Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Office Suite, etc.)
