Your role

The System Control / Project Engineer is the key person for scheduling and routing all fabrication orders through the TRUMPF Smart Factory using the latest technology in software. This position is also responsible for general project management and coordination of specific assignments in regards to developing, improving and implementing processes as well as tasks within the topic of lean manufacturing (SYNCHRO) related to the department 

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, release and monitor production/demonstration orders using TRUMPF’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Program and price sheet metal parts for production/demonstration purposes in close coordination with customers and department employees
  • Consult with customer for clarification of parts, drawings and pricing of these parts with the support of TRUMPF software tools.
  • Consult customer in design changes to the parts for better manufacturing
  • Conduct customer production flow and software demonstrations at TUSC and perform entire system walkthroughs for customers in the control room from order to shipping
  • Lead and support SYNCHRO activities and improve product/information flow by implementing standardized procedures and structures. Create process maps through different TUSC areas
  • Develop project plans, coordinate project team activities, communicate changes and progress to management, maintain data and reports to track progress, display commitment to excellence to complete projects on time
  • Consult and demonstrate machine technology related solutions for Industry 4.0
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Your profile

Previous experience in TRUMPF machine applications and sheet metal production scheduling. Significant experience with CAD and programming. Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision and takes full responsibility for a project and follow through with it until completion. Must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and to gain the respect of other employees. Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and production software systems. Experience with metric system is plus. TRUMPF’s MES (TruTops Fab) highly desirable. MS Office applications required. Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal are required as this position involves extensive contact with customers and Sales representatives.  

Education

Minimum 2-year technical school degree with a solid math background or the suitable equivalent of education and work experience. Bachelor or Master degree in manufacturing or engineering preferred.
